In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating Departmental and University-wide strategic plans, policies, and programs to ensure the safety of York University campuses. You will engage the York community in the development, implementation and evaluation of these safety plans, policies, and programs, and will oversee the delivery of university-wide engagement, education, awareness, and response initiatives. As a subject matter expert, you will ensure that these initiatives have firm goals and timelines and that outcomes are evaluated to ensure their effectiveness in fostering a safe, healthy, supportive environment for all York community members.

To be considered, you bring the following:
A University degree in a relevant field such as Public/Business Administration, Law, Criminology. A minimum five years of experience leading large-scale program / policy development, project coordination and implementation, service delivery, program management and administration, research / program evaluation. Proven ability to lead teams in a large, complex environment, build effective relationships and work collaboratively with the diverse stakeholders to balance their multiple interests, including a broad range of equity-seeking groups.

Demonstrated strong political and institutional acumen, the ability to communicate effectively and influence without direct authority. Experience coordinating and facilitating large-scale training and educational campaigns. Experience working in Senior leadership in a large organization with a diverse workforce.
