We invite applications for one full-time Assistant or Associate Professor (with tenure or tenure-track based on qualifications and experience). The anticipated start date for this position is January 1st, 2021.
The School of Public Administration offers multi-disciplinary programs for practicing or prospective leaders, managers and analysts seeking the skills necessary for effective and responsible public management and policy analysis. We offer five undergraduate Professional Specialization Certificates and three Diplomas, as well as graduate-level Master’s degrees in Public Administration (MPA) and Community Development (MACD), a Graduate Certificate and Diploma in Evaluation, and a PhD in Public Administration. Requirements
Candidates for the appointment must hold a Ph.D., with post-doctoral training or pertinent work experience in a relevant field for public administration. Candidates must have teaching experience and an established research program. The ideal candidate will have work experience or demonstrate qualities for taking academic program leadership responsibilities.
We seek candidates with pertinent expertise in public administration or a related field such as Indigenous studies, environmental studies, geography, political science, etc. Applied research and work experience in areas such as Indigenous governance and self-determination, Indigenous data management/sovereignty, community development, place-based governance and environmental sustainability would be considered assets as well as skills in data analytics and visualization. We encourage scholars with established relationships and experience working with Indigenous nations and communities to apply.
We are interested in recruiting a person who collaborates well and is willing to establish research partnerships across disciplines. The ideal candidate is interested in making a difference in her/his academic and community environments through teaching, research, and university and community service. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the graduate and undergraduate programs (in both online and on campus formats), supervise graduate students, conduct research and participate in program leadership and administrative management of the School.
