Job Description

The School of Public Administration is among Canada’s leaders in the delivery of programs in public and non-profit sector administration and community development. We invite applications for 1 full-time associate professor position (tenure-track). We are looking for candidates with pertinent expertise in, for example, public administration, Indigenous studies, environmental studies, economics, health administration, political sciences, sociology, psychology, evaluation, dispute resolution, education, business, community development, social innovation. A substantive interest in environmental sustainability, in Indigenous governance or equity would be an asset.  The preferred start date of the position is July 1, 2019.

The School is dedicated to educating public sector and community leaders who can effectively navigate complex settings. We contribute to the development of innovative thinkers and professionals who will have a positive impact on governments and communities through their commitments to the values of integrity, engaged and courageous scholarship, sustainability and inclusivity.

The School offers multi-disciplinary programs for practicing or prospective leaders, managers and analysts interested in responsible public management and policy analysis.  We offer undergraduate Professional Specialization Certificates and Diplomas, and Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Community Development), a Graduate Certificate and Diploma in Evaluation, and a PhD in Public Administration. Requirements
Candidates for the appointment must hold a Ph.D., ideally with post-doctoral training, in a relevant field, must have teaching experience and a promising research program.
 
We are interested in candidates who collaborate well and interested in making a difference in the academic and community environments through teaching, research, and university and community service. The successful candidate will teach in the graduate and undergraduate programs, in both online and on campus formats, supervise graduate students, conduct research and participate in the administrative structure of the School.
