The Department of Family Medicine (DFM) delivers the largest post-graduate residency program in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University through a distributed education model with its primary site at Kingston and the Thousand Islands and satellite offices in Belleville, Peterborough, and Oshawa. It is home to the Centre for Studies in Primary Care. It operates the Queen’s Family Health Team, an inter-professional health care centre serving the Kingston community. It also has a series of complex relationships with governmental, community and international partners and stakeholders.
DFM has a unique opportunity to join our inclusive and dynamic team as the Associate Director Administration, Initiatives, and Operations. Reporting to the Department Head, the incumbent will be a strong communicator and confident delegator responsible for the effective and independent management, planning, communication and coordination of administration, initiatives, and operations within the department. The incumbent will be a responsive-oriented strategic thinker who enjoys working with a variety of individuals in an ever-evolving role. To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated expertise as an effective problem solver within the higher education sector, and possess a robust understanding of processes and policies within the industry.
This role is responsible for dealing with the operations and initiatives that impact four geographically distributed sites, presenting the incumbent with a wide-variety of challenges that will promote both personal and professional growth.
