Inspired by Canada’s embrace of its diversity, the Global Centre for Pluralism envisions a world where human differences are valued and diverse societies thrive. Working toward this goal, the Centre offers a global platform for analysis, education and dialogue about the choices and actions that advance and sustain pluralism. The Centre is a unique public-private partnership between His Highness the Aga Khan and the Government of Canada.
At this time, the Centre is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to serve as its next Secretary General. Working with the Board and leading a highly-collaborative team, the Secretary General will drive forward and communicate the importance of pluralism through the Centre’s research work, programs and activities. The Secretary General will refine and expand an impactful program portfolio, build a strong network of strategic partnerships, and communicate the “why” and “how” of pluralism to an expanding group of influencers.
Global experience in addressing the challenges to pluralism would be advantageous. Moreover, as a result of their intellectual rigor and media savvy, the ideal candidate has fostered organizational growth by delivering successful partnerships, programs, and fundraising. An excellent track record of multi-stakeholder management with civil society institutions, policy makers, governments and the private sector is required. A minimum of a Master’s degree and at least 10 years of senior leadership experience in international relations and development are required. Individuals who are bilingual in English and French are preferred.
The Global Centre for Pluralism practices employment equity and encourages applications from all qualified applicants in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. These requirements include: hiring, workplace information, talent and performance management, and communication of accessibility policies.
