The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) Review

The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) Review
This webinar briefly explores some of the financial assistance programs available to Canadians during the COVID-19 outbreak – especially the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS).

The COVID-19 crisis offers an ideal setting to realize how both employers and governments can and should safeguard employees’ role as profit drivers and tax base. Employers need to invest in employees’ physical and mental health since it is the employees who are the profit drivers in any organization.  Governments also occasionally need reminding that employees need to be healthy in order to be productive taxpayers.

This webinar briefly explores some of the financial assistance programs available to Canadians during the COVID-19 outbreak – especially the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS). It argues that for many businesses, the costs of inaction on CEWS may be greater than the costs of action. The CEWS can therefore be a win-win-win program for the employee, the employer and the government.
