IPAC-U: The City of Edmonton's Public Engagement Journey
The presentation will focus on past experiences experiences, the work to modernize our work practices and approaches relating to public engagement and how we did this, shifting an organization’s culture relating to public engagement, and the role of a front facing municipal government in working with stakeholders and citizens and how this can contribute to better outcomes.
Jason Meliefste graduated from University of Alberta in Civil Engineering on a Friday in 2001 and started working with the City of Edmonton the following Monday. He is presently the Branch Manager for Infrastructure Planning & Design. He’s had various roles with the City of Edmonton over the course of his 18 year career but has primarily been involved in infrastructure (transit, roads, bridges, buildings, parks) planning, design, and construction.
