How do decisions get made? Join the Government of Alberta’s Corey Hogan as he discusses “the formal and informal influences that shape decision making” - and how they’re relevant to our work as public administrators. Political acumen is often seen as a skill needed exclusively by public servants who interact regularly with elected decisionmakers. But political acumen is a core skill that helps things get done in any work environment. It is a skill that becomes crucially important as you work your way up the ranks. Corey Hogan is a professional communicator and digital tactician. As the Managing Director (deputy head) of the Government of Alberta’s Communications and Public Engagement department, Corey is responsible for communications resources within the Alberta Public Service. He was appointed to this senior official role in 2016 and has served NDP and UCP governments.
