DESCRIPTION/PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT: IPAC Toronto Region group holds regular collective learning and speaker events on topics relevant to public service. Diverse speakers are needed for lectures and to participate on panels.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED: Exceptional public speaking (e.g. engaging, able to communicate ideas and concepts clearly). Subject matter expertise on the event topic.
OUTLINE OF VOLUNTEER’S RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide insights and opinions on your area of expertise to an audience of policy professionals.
SUPPORT PLAN: Board members planning the event would work with the speaker to prepare them for the event. For example, setting out learning objectives for the event.
TIME COMMITMENT: Would need to be available for 2-4 meetings (may be via teleconference) to weigh in on the learning objectives for the event and understand your role as speaker. Would need to be available for the event day. Would require subject matter expertise on the topic.
