The Vancouver Agreement

The Vancouver Agreement is an urban development compact among the governments of Canada, British Columbia and the City of Vancouver. Signed in March 2000 for a five-year term, and renewed in April 2005 for a further five years. It has been recognized as a leading example of successful collaborative working in urban governance and intergovernmental cooperation. It received the award for innovative management the Institute of Public Administration of Canada, a United Nations Public Service Award for improving transparency, accountability and responsiveness in the public service and a Partnership Award from the Association of Professional Executives of the Public Service of Canada. : There is a teaching note for this case.
