IPAC-U: GoA Respectful Workplace Policy 

 

Curious about what Government of Alberta (GoA) is doing to create respectful workplaces? Join Huzaifa Faisal to learn about the key components of the GoA Respectful Workplace (RW) Policy, which is anchored to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act updates from June 2018. Through a case study approach, this session will cover:

- RW Policy and the commitment of GoA

- Scope and application of RW policy

- Definitions of focus areas: Harassment (bullying, discrimination, and sexual harassment) and violence (domestic violence)

- Key elements of the RW policy: issue resolution process and appeal

- Roles, responsibilities, and supports

 

Huzaifa is a consultant on Policy and Program Development with the Wellness, Health and Safety Branch in the Public Service Commission (PSC). She has worked at both department and corporate levels in the Government of Alberta. In addition to her current job duties, she facilitates Respectful Workplace Policy sessions for managers and supervisors in GoA.
