Since the start of the pandemic, there has been significant disruption to all aspects of our lives; the role and operations of the public and private sector changed, seemingly overnight, and the past 12 months have dramatically changed the ways in which we work, live, and engage. The way in which society has reacted has tested our resiliency as a nation and as individuals, shaping our path forward for building back a more resilient future for one another. At the epicenter of change are questions on the Future of Work, and implications for the workforce more broadly. Governments in all jurisdictions will play a critical role in guiding our continued recovery, and will greatly influence the future of work, by championing equity and inclusion, global competitiveness, innovation and productivity across the Canadian workforce.
