Getting innovative policy and programs implemented is challenging but achievable. The ability to see the impact those policies or programs have on the lives of Albertans can be very rewarding. Innovation in the public service is challenging but there are ways to get things done. The motivation, perseverance, skill sets and knowledge to instill and foster innovation in the public service is core to our society’s progress. 

Justin Riemer (Alberta Health - ADM, Innovation & Strategic Operations) has been an intrapreneur in the Government of Alberta for over two decades. He has provided leadership and supported a number of successful policies and programs that have brought in billions of dollars in investment, created thousands of jobs and improved the lives of Albertans. Justin will share what he believes is important for innovation to thrive in the public sector.
