We are pleased to invite applications for the Board of Directors of IPAC Toronto Region for 2023-24!
IPAC Toronto Region is seeking approximately 5 members to join the upcoming two-year term of the
Board & fill vacant

Board/committee member (member-at-large)
New board members will add fresh perspective and energy to complement the strong experience and
stability of returning
Board colleagues as we look to continue to strengthen IPAC Toronto Region.

The Board slate will be considered for approval at IPAC Toronto Region’s Annual General Meeting in late
November 2022.
About the Board of Directors
IPAC Toronto Region’s Board plays a crucial role in the advancement and sustainability of IPAC and
the regional chapter. The Board provides strategic direction, as well as operational leadership over
the chapter’s business and initiatives.
Board key responsibilities include developing strategic goals and action plans; participating in the
planning and delivery of initiatives; ensuring the continued member engagement and growth; and
fostering relationships with the IPAC community and other organizations.
As an ambassador for IPAC, each Board member is expected to be a member-in-good standing of the
Institute, contribute actively to Board activities including leading/participating in Board
committees and chapter initiatives, and promote IPAC events and opportunities. Through the committee
structure, the Board is able to focus Board members on key activities, and currently include
management, events and
programs (including a focus on New Professionals programming), awards, communications, membership,
and volunteers. Board members form part of, and work closely with and leverage a dynamic pool of
volunteers that help advance the regional chapter.
Committees on Board of Directors
The Board of Directors operates in a committee structure. The committees include the following:

Events and Programs: responsible for planning, organizing and implementing programming and
events, including programming for new professionals

Awards: oversees delivery of IPAC awards, including the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal of
Distinction in Public Administration and Emerging New Professional Award

Volunteer: responsible for liaising and managing our group of volunteers who assist with
planning and execution of the region’s programming

Membership: responsible for developing IPAC Toronto Region’s Membership Plan and Strategy

Communications: develops and implements annual communications plan with a goal of increasing
engagement, and oversees the chapter’s communication channels and promotional initiatives
Roles on the Board of Directors
The roles on the Board of Directors include: chair of the Board, committee chair and
member-at-large.
The Chair of the Board provides leadership to the Board of Directors, including leading strategic
planning and stewardship of relationships, including with IPAC’s National Office; overseeing and
supporting Board members’ execution of duties; setting Board agenda and presiding over meetings; and
representing the Board at key forums, including national and regional meetings.
Committee Chairs lead the development and implementation of committee initiatives, working closely
with and coordinating Board/Committee Members (Members-at-Large) and volunteers.
