Overview
At the international level, IPAC's vision is to be the best Canadian source of senior-level public sector knowledge and expertise in support of sustainable development of economies and societies, good governance, and policy capacity. IPAC members wish to contribute to international knowledge in public administration and also want the benefits of experience in public administration in other countries and cultures.
IPAC-NCR is a strong supporter of IPAC’s international vision and activities. This commitment is reflected in both the caliber and popularity of internationally focused events planned and implemented by IPAC-NRC, under the auspices of the VP International.
Building Knowledge Networks
Through building “knowledge networks” and relationships, sharing vital information with others, and partnering on key events and activities, IPAC-NCR will strive to become a leader in promoting international activities locally and in providing its members with a valuable “window” to the world.
Examples of past events hosted by the IPAC-NCR group include:
- A presentation by Mr. Errol Mendes, Professor of International Law and UN adviser, on the UN Global Compact and Corporate Social Responsibility in an era of Globalization. November 2002.
§ A luncheon and presentation by Sir Andrew Burns, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, on public sector challenges and issues in Great Britain. February 2003.
- A presentation by Mr. Ercel Baker, CEO of the Baker Group International, on Public Sector Reform in China. May 2003.
