A message from the President and Past-President of IPAC Saskatchewan:
Hello members and friends of the Saskatchewan Regional Group of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC). As you know, our Regional Group is governed by a volunteer board of directors selected from the members in good standing (i.e., paid members of IPAC). Article 14 of the Bylaws calls for a board of up to 14 members (typically we aim for 12) which includes representation from:
· Public Service of Canada
· Public Service of Saskatchewan
· The Administrative Services of Municipal Corporations
· Provincial Crown Corporations
· The Post-Secondary Sector
· Students of Public Administration
· New Professionals Network
Note the above list suggests representation from each of those groups, although anyone who is a member of IPAC in good standing is eligible to serve on the Board, regardless of employer/affiliation.
Three current board members are reaching the end of their term limits as defined in the bylaws, and an additional one or two members will be stepping down. As a result, we are recruiting approximately five new members to join the Board. Potential replacements and renewed portfolio assignments will be presented to the membership at the upcoming AGM in June for confirmation. The Board meets monthly from September through June over a lunch hour. Meetings are held in Regina, with a phone-in option available. In addition to meeting attendance, all Board members are expected to contribute to the ongoing affairs and objectives of IPAC SK, usually requiring from 2 to 5 hours per month.
If you may be interested in serving on the board and would like more information, please contact either of us at the coordinates noted below. If you are interested in serving on the Board, please provide a copy of your current resume. A response by Friday April 15 would be appreciated.
Thanks for your ongoing support of IPAC!
Doris Morrow, President IPAC SK
Jim Engel, Past President IPAC SK
