About Us
Formed in 1947, the Institute of Public Administration of Canada has evolved into a leading Canadian institute concerned with the theory and practice of public management. IPAC, is a national bilingual English/French non-profit organization, concerned with the theory and practice of public management, with 17 regional groups across Canada. IPAC provides a diversity of regional, national and international networks and forums, enabling provincial, federal, municipal, academic, and private sector professionals to exchange ideas on the practices and innovations occurring within public administration.
Mission Statement
The Institute is "dedicated to excellence in public service" and pursues this vision by advocating the values and ideals of public work that result in the highest standards of professional practice. Through its dynamic educational and professional development initiatives, IPAC provides an atmosphere that promotes the expansion and exchange of knowledge of public administrators.

Regional Role - IPAC Nova Scotia
The Nova Scotia Regional Group advances the objectives of the Institute through its own distinct pattern of networking activities. Designed to explore the diverse challenges faced by our province, The Group organizes a varied and topical series of events throughout the year. These range from breakfast and lunch sessions with featured speakers or panels to recognition programs such as the Lieutenant Governor's Medal for Distinction in Public Administration which recognizes individuals within the region who illustrate a significant contribution in the field of public administration.
