IPAC to Support New Professionals to Attend the 62nd IPAC National Annual Conference in Ottawa in August 2010
IPAC-NCR is pleased to announce that up to three new professionals from the National Capital Region will be supported to attend the IPAC National Annual Conference to be held in Ottawa from August 22-25.
Special activities are planned for the 2010 IPAC Annual Conference to provide valuable learning and networking opportunities especially for new professionals, including a special session that will bring together new professionals and leaders in the public service.
The IPAC New Professionals Program, which focuses on individuals who have less than five years of public sector experience, is designed to build a professional network of emerging leaders by providing opportunities to share experiences and knowledge and generate ideas for a new public service.
As part of the IPAC New Professionals Program, IPAC-NCR will provide $250 towards conference fees to each of 3 new professionals to attend.
• The sponsored individual’s employer is encouraged to cover the remaining costs.
• Only conference fees are eligible for this subsidy. Other costs – such as travel and accommodations – are ineligible.
• The sponsored individuals will be required to provide a short written summary of the conference within two weeks.
If you are a new professional and would like to be considered for this fabulous opportunity, please submit an expression of interest. The deadline for submissions is Friday, June 18, 4:30pm, to Howard Yeung at hoyeung@deloitte.ca. Expressions of interest should contain the following:
• Contact information (name, mailing address, e-mail address and daytime phone number).
• Name of public sector employer.
• Number of years of public sector service.
• Description of involvement with IPAC, if applicable.
• A description of the benefits you feel that attending the conference would offer to you (300 words maximum, in either official language).
The successful candidate will be contacted by the IPAC National Capital Region Group by approximately June 25th.
If you are not a new professional, but know a new professional that may be interested in attending the conference, we strongly encourage you to forward this notice on.
We thank you for your continued interest in IPAC and wish you good luck with your submissions!
Kaili Levesque, Chair
IPAC National Capital Region
