Project Description:
This is a governance project, responsive to the requirements of the South African provinces. Its aim is to strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of provincial governments. The project twins the South African provinces with Canadian provinces. The main purpose of these partnerships is to strengthen public administration and in so doing contribute to strong, stable, democratic government.
Goal:
To assist South Africa to strengthen its capacity to provide efficient governance contributing to effective and efficient delivery of government services and programs in South Africa.
Objectives:
To improve the capacity of the provincial governments of South Africa, through twinning arrangements with Canadian provinces increasing the effectiveness of the delivery of government services to address basic human needs.

• Eastern Cape – British Columbia
• Mpumalanga - Alberta
• Free State - Saskatchewan
• North West Province – Manitoba
• Gauteng - Ontario
• Northern Cape - New Brunswick and other Provinces
• Limpopo and Western Cape – More than one Canadian partner
