Overview

Healthcare Sector Challenges

  • Budget Constraints

  • Demand for Improved Performance

  • Responding to Unanticipated Shocks

  • Focusing on Patient Care

Learn from your sector and other high risk sectors!

Traditional response models focus on improving the high reliability of care by understanding “what went wrong in our rules and procedures?”. These models remain inadequate because they rely on hindsight, fail to anticipate surprises and do not allow managers and front-line workers to adapt responsively as safety incidents emerge. A new systemic way of thinking is required to improve patient care within fast-paced non-linear healthcare organizations: RESILIENCE.

Resilient organizations can respond to adversity, make smart decisions and bounce back to a level of good performance quickly. They can get short-term results, build methods and processes for future successful operations, and achieve long-term goals.

Join healthcare leaders, public servants and champions of resilience from high-consequence industries on May 31 and June 1st for the Institute of Public Administration of Canada’s (IPAC) Sustainable Transformation - Building a Resilient Organization conference at the Pantages Hotel, Toronto. The conference is supported by the Ontario government.

Learn from your peers about how to build resilience within your organization. Learn from experts about resilience and experiences in high consequence industries. Through interactive sessions learn how to apply new tools such as the Resilience Grid to your organization.

Following the conference, we will invite participants to join a virtual network and learning journey to be hosted by the “Three R’s” Network, a joint commitment of IPAC and other sponsoring organizations to improve Resilience, Reliability, and Results.
