Memories from the 2008 IPAC Conference

On Sunday August 23, 2008 delegates to the IPAC 60th Annual Conference gathered for the opening reception.

Video of the Student Thought Leadership Award presentation and reception. The Student Thought Leadership award is jointly sponsored by the IPAC Endowment Fund and the Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA).

In honour of the 100th Anniversary of the Public Service Commission of Canada, IPAC worked with the PSC to develop a book on its history. This video is of the launch of the book “Defending a Contested Ideal: Merit and the PSC of Canada 1908-2008” by Luc Juillet of the University of Ottawa and Ken Rasmussen of the University of Regina. Official book launches & book signings were held at the 2008 IPAC annual conference in Québec City in August 2008 and at the residence of the Canadian High Commissioner in Barbados in conjunction with the 2008 CAPAM biennial conference.

It was not all fun and games at the 2008 Quebec Conference. Watch this video compilation of the keynote speakers, the workshops, and various award winners.

And last but not least…the President’s Banquet. This is when the “torch” is passed from one Prez to another. And let’s not forget the show and the dancing.
